Part:BBa_K5403004
Outer membrane protein A (OmpA)
The outer membrane protein A (OmpA) is found in E. coli and has been used as an anchor to attach other proteins to the membrane exterior by recombinant expression (Beck et al., 2017). A protein of interest can be attached to the C-terminus of OmpA, with a flexible linker in between. Composite part BBa_5403013 was made based on this basic part, with the aim of displaying GFP on the membrane, anchored onto OmpA.
